So, if you have access to the Uniontown Library or any other which has the "Horn Maps," you could check the tract map for Bullskin. Or, you could also purchase one from the Tax Assessor's office: Fayette County Assessment Office, 61 E. Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401-3514. Regards, Jane

    3. Ed You are right about Township. Took a look at another map, it is Redstone Twp.Map I had doesn't show boundaries very well. can send scan of map, with cemetery marked. It is marked on this highway map. It is about 1 1/2 miles South east of village of Rowes Run on Rowes Run Road. Ed I know you don't trust attachments, but I can assure it is scanned by latest update of Norton Anti-virus, and is virus free. John do you want to see where it is ? I want to know what the real name is too. I read in Jordan that it is the old Quaker Meeting place in Redstone. 3. John Thanks, for the additional information. There is no sign of a church there now, and 3 people living nearby, including the landowner's wife, that I talked to, refereed to it as a Quaker Cemetery. Can only report what I'm told, and what I find. It is apparent that they were right about stones being taken from cemetery. Most of stones recorded by Della are NOT there now. I was told, about 10 to 15 years ago, (before I was interested in cemeteries,) that there were headstones standing alongside of a garage in Smock, by a fellow worker that lives in Smock. Very possibly they were from this cemetery. It is good that at least Della recorded them before they were taken, to who knows where. I have pictures of stones and of cemetery, if anyone wants to see for themselves. I have been taking pictures of cemeteries I record & ones I get GPS location for. 3. I have a question for anyone who might know anything about the Bryner family. Below is the obit for Nellie Bryner Provance, my step-greatgrandmother. My great-uncle has been trying to find out anything about his family. We know from this obit that she had two brothers & three sisters. Her mother is only listed as Mrs. Bryner. Her father is Alfred Bryner. Does anyone know anything about Alfred & his wife & their children? Joan Peake > Funeral services for the late Mrs. > Nellie M. 3. Ken Are there pictures for the stones for Erasmus Alton, Mary Ann (Hunter?) Britt & Elizabeth Britt? I'm trying to work out a mystery on Mary Ann. The Britt family has always had her as Sarah Ann Hunter, but when I followed John Britt, her husband, I determined that his wife was mary Ann. Still trying to determine if she was a Hunter. Thanks Joan Peake

    3. Ken, Redstone Regular Baptist Church Cemetery Redstone Baptist Church built in 1847 but meetings were held before that date. Members attented the Brownsville Church prior to this, Wm Sharpless, Wm Colvin, and Elias Hutchinson served as building committe, but Wm Sharpless was chiefly responsible through his individual efforts and means. The Church secured it for their use after it stood vacant for a number of years. Della Reagan recored this cem and at the time she recored it she has 59 names on her listing. 1. Re: [PAFAY] Death Certificates
    2. Louise Stanzione
    3. I was under the impression that ALL Pennsylvania counties turned over birth and death registrations to the state effective 1906. The state required registrations at the county level in 1893, making the only records held at ALL county levels=1893 thru 1905. Janet, when you sent to the state for the death record, did you order a multi-year search (for which there is a larger fee) rather than an actual date? Did you write out the month and day, or did you use the 3/5/20 style? That can sometimes be interpreted as March 5 or May 3, therfore you must be specific on the application. Do you know absolutely that she died in Allegheny county? If so, do you know the municipality? Perhaps a search of newspaper obits for that date, or close thereafter, in the local newspaper that serves that minicipality would be in order. Touch base with a library close to the municipality where she died for the availability of newspapers on microfilm. If you are not close to that municipality/library, some will do the lookup for you, most for a reasonable fee.Especially since you have an approximate death date. This might be the economical way to go, since the state has recently increased the fees for copies of vital records. And they require copies of your photo ID, etc. I guess it has to do with identity theft, terrorism, etc, but gee, it just made legitimate genealogy searches, harder. If you know the municipality in which she died, have you found her burial place?Any stone or marker? Check with the cemetery office for details.Sometimes they will give different details than what you already know from your Bible entry. Personally I would trust the cemetery office dates before I would trust the Bible entry. Listers, I've recently had occasion to send for death certs from the state of Illinois vital records. What a TREAT. Much of it is on-line, up thru the late 40's, search ability is great. It's fairly easy to find who you're looking for, cost is affordable. That state made theirs EASIER to access, PA made theirs HARDER.
