Hello guys, I am wondering if any of you by any chance have a connection to Owen Davis of Fayette County? The reason I'm asking is because I am convinced that my Rachel Davis might very well be a "Ruth Davis" mentioned in some of the genealogy trees on Ancestry. --Andrew --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. I'm always looking for documentation on the Snyder's of Fayette/Somerset Counties, and I recently came across a Snyder I can't place. Ludwick Snider of Tyrone Township left a will dated 27 Aug 1849. I have not been able to place Ludwick within the John Snyder/Dewalt Schneider line or Adam Snyder of Somerset Co lineage. He mentions his wife Elizabeth and his daughter Polly intermarried with John Sheaffer. He mentions his four sons: Jacob, John, David and Ludwick. He also mentions daughter Eliana Snider. Witnesses were Jacob D. Overholt and Samuel Garver (?? sorry, its a hard name to read). I believe Beverly Domer may have found Ludwick Snider in Bullskin Township in the early census information (1810??). Anyone out there familiar with Ludwick? Is he related to either of the other two Snyder/Schneider lineages I previously mentioned? Thanks for any help on this one. And if anyone wants a copy of Ludwick's will, please let me know. Thanks to all you List Members! I appreciate all the help you have given me on locating Leisenring on the map and then locating an Orthdox Church in the area. It is much appreciated! Perhaps now I will be able to find out something about her parentage! Sincerely, Nancy Brown Santa Ana, Ca
Once upon a time there was an Orthodox church in Perryopolis. May still be there?? 1929 - 1930???? there was a small building on the hill above White Row in Star Junction. I was told that this was an Orthodox Church. Star Junction did not exist until 1892. Grant

Hi, Nancy, There are two other churches listed in the Yellow Pages which might also be the one you seek. The first is Saint Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church on Church Street in New Salem and the other is ST. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville. For that one the address of the rectory is listed as 302 3rd Avenue. In the white pages, the church has the same address in Brownsville. In the white pages, there's also "Holy Trinity Orthodox Church Parsonage 92 S Mill Street, New Salem. I do not know the history of these churches. Seems as if there is at least one more --- perhaps in the Leisenring area. There is a great listing of churches on a website; the old url no longer works for it. Found again, slightly revised: http://www.hhs.net/fforward/spiritual/churches.htm Regards, Jane
I just found a memorial card in my GOTTMAN, GOTTMANN possessions for MARGARET SYMONS. Does anyone have this person in their family tree? She was born December 14, 1897 and passed away January 22, 1939. The services were held at the Forty Fort M. E. Church on January 25, 1939. The Clergyman was Rev Adrian B Foote. Organist was Mildred Prynn with interment in West Pittston Cemetary. If anyone needs more information on the card such as Ushers, Flower Bearers or Pall Bearers please let me know. If you have some information that will help me know how this person connects with my family please let me know. This also could be something that would relate to BOYD or WALTERS. I certainly hope that this will give me something that I can use to find my GOTTMAN, GOTTMANN relations information. Thanks, Jo Gottman kgottman1@cox.net
