    3. Altha Eugene "Skeeter" GUSEMAN, 56, of Markleysburg, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pa. He was born July 11, 1947, in Uniontown, Pa., son of the late Altha Homes GUSEMAN and Betty Lou BARNHART Guseman. Surviving are his wife, JoAnn FRANTZ Guseman and two children, Michelle Elaine GUSEMAN, of San Leandro, Calif., and Michael Eugene GUSEMAN, at home; one sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Harold Tawney, of Smithfield, Pa.; one nephew, Harold Tawney, III, of Michigan; his mother-in-law, Blanche Frantz, of Markleysburg; one aunt, Beverly David and husband, Allen; one uncle, Robert BARNHART and wife, Joyce, all of Uniontown; and three very special pets that he enjoyed and loved, Rusty, Damion and Lenny, and they will miss him. He was a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Uniontown and Frick Hospitals for 30 years, was a graduate of Penn State University, and served in the U.S. Air Force as a Medic. He has previously been assistant Scout Master at Chalk Hill, Pa., and his favorite past time was the outdoors and the time he spent hunting. Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME OF FARMINGTON, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m., and Friday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Neil A. Stevens officiating.     3. Mary BERRISH Dubois, 86, of California, Pa., died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, in Fredericksburg, Va., at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. Mrs. Dubois was born March 5, 1917, in Brownsville, Pa., a daughter of the late Stephen and Anna DOLAK BERRISH. She was married for 54 years to the late Oscar L. DUBOIS, of California, Pa., but originally of Charleroi, Belgium. For the greater part of her married life, she was a homemaker. However, she retired in 1978, as a revenue officer with the California University of Pennsylvania Revenue Office, after having worked there for eight years. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, John, George, Elmer, Steve and Frank BERRISH. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Robert DUBOIS, of California, Pa.; a daughter, Linda K. Quitmeyer-Malo, of Fredericksburg, Va.; one grandson, Douglas Quitmeyer, of Fort Benning, Ga.; one stepgrandson, Stephen Malo, of Arlington, Va.; and one stepgranddaughter, Sharon Malo Weaver, of Richmond, Va. Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNRAL HOME INC., Anthony N.     3. Clifford Taft SPRINGER, 95, of Shippensburg, Pa., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004. He was born Aug. 2, 1908, in North Union Township, in Fayette County, Pa. Mr. Springer served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Mess Sergeant with a Master Chef classification. Mr. Springer was the owner of the County Home Grill Restaurant in Uniontown, and retired as a Maintenance Superintendent of Fayette County. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Uniontown, Pa. Mr. Springer loved animals and was a natural teacher, and by far the best Dad a son could ever ask for. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Mary C. Springer, of Shippensburg; one son, Clifford Thomas SPRINGER, of Shippensburg; one grandson, Lee Garner SPRINGER, of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, John Todd SPRINGER, of Dover, N.H.; friends, Carrol Garner Springer and Suzanne M.     3. Constance "Connie" A. Nuccetelli, 75, of Grindstone, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at the home of her son, Anthony NUCCETELLI, in West Chester, Pa. She was born Nov. 30, 1928, in Searights, Pa., daughter of the late Antonio and Bibiana CIMINI LAPPA. Mrs. Nuccetelli was a member of St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church of Grindstone, Pa. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alex J. NUCCETELLI, who passed away on Dec. 14, 1987; and two brothers and two sisters, Sylvester LAPPA, Jean Kilgore, Louise Townsend and Anello LAPPA. She is survived by four children, Pamela Spishock, of Antioch, Calif., Alex A. NUCCETELLI, of Grindstone, Pa., David NUCCETELLI and his wife, Sandra, of Southlake, Texas, and Anthony NUCCETELLI and his wife, Shannon, of West Chester, Pa.; four grandchildren, Gina Teeples and her husband, Matthew, of Brentwood, Calif., Larry Spishock, of Oakley, Calif., Maria NUCCETELLI, of Southlake, Texas, and Emma NUCCETELLI, of West Chester, Pa.; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jonathan Teeples; one sister, Angeline Skokandich, of North Bergen, N.J.; and numerous nieces and nephews.     3. Deborah Ann Jackson, 52, of Richeyville, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at her residence. She was born June 26, 1952, in Washington, Pa., the daughter of William W. and Anna KACVINSKY Chambers, who are deceased. Mrs. Jackson is a 1970 graduate of Beth-Center High School. She was the first woman to become a journeyman machinist for the Brockway Class Company, where she worked until the plant closed. She also worked for Anchor Hocking Glass in Pottsville, Pa., for several years. Mrs. Jackson enjoyed baking and cake decorating, spending time with her family and her grandchildren, fishing and playing Bingo. Surviving are one daughter, Rachelle Novotney and one son, David V. Ventura, both of Richeyville; two sisters, Darlene Ventura, of Richeyville, and Margaret Jean Skirble, of Tucson Ariz.; one brother, William "Bucky" CHAMBERS, of Canonsburg, Pa.; two grandchildren, Courtney Ann Novotney and Kara Lee Novotney; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Donna Marie Bartolotto and Billie Jean CHAMBERS, who died in infancy. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the NICHOL FUNERAL HOME, 1873 East Maiden St., Washington, Pa., when a Memorial Service will be held at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions.     3. James J. "Bud" BEATTY, 74, of Dilliner, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. Born Feb. 1, 1929, in Dilliner, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary Ellen SMITLEY BEATTY. He was a faithful member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, a coal miner, retired from Cumberland Mine, and a member of the U.M.W.A. Bud was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, having earned the rank of Staff Sergeant, and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, and the United Nations Service Medal. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Helen SMITH Beatty, who he married on May 23, 1953; five children and their spouses, Detra and Jerry Michael and Lori and Tony Double, all of Dilliner, Deborah and Gary Bailey, of Adah, Pa., Jamie and Deborah Beatty, of Front Royal, Va., and Michael and Toni Beatty of Xenia, Ohio; nine grandchildren; three great-grandsons; brothers, Robert BEATTY, of Dilliner, and Joseph BEATTY, of Mount Morris, W.Va.; sisters, Catherine Brown, of Dilliner, Leona David, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Betty Lynn, of Point Marion, Pa.; and by a number of loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles LEWELLYN, on Nov. 6, 1999. She graduated from Marietta High School and Marietta College of Marietta, Ohio, and worked for many years for the Easter Seals Society of Fayette County, Pa., as Executive Secretary. Marjorie was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, chancel choir and hand bells. She was also a member of the Uniontown O.E.S. Chapter No. 263, the Circle Club, Civic League of Uniontown, Past President of the Business and Professional Women, and the Garden Club of Uniontown. He was born Oct. 20, 1957, in Waynesburg, Pa., son of John and Julia MIKORYAK PAVLOVICH, who preceded him in death. Stephen was a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, Class of 1975, and was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was employed as the water plant operator of Masontown Borough for 21 years, and was an avid computer technician. He loved his family and his church and was a good friend to many. He is survived by a brother, Jonathan E. PAVLOVICH and wife, Denise, of Jasper, Ala.; a sister, Cynthia E. Walters and husband, Lonny, of Jefferson, Pa.; three nephews, Jonathan PAVLOVICH, Jr., and wife, Bobbi Jo, Shawn PAVLOVICH, and Lonny Walters Jr.; and a niece, Candace Walters. MILLER and Thomas E. MILLER.     3. Mrs. Mary Barry DUFFY, widow of Peter Duffy, of Brookvale, died Tuesday evening at 6:10. She was 61 years old. Mrs. Duffy was born in Ireland. She came to the Connellsville district while a girl and had since lived there all her life. She is survived by the following children: Margaret and James, at home; Mrs. Frances Keefer of Bentleyville; Mrs. Katherine Johnson of Akron, O., and Mrs. Julia Flinn of Cleveland, O. Three grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic church. Interment in the new St. Joseph's church cemetery. Survivors include five sons, AVERILL, KENNETH, RALPH, DONALD, and LeROY; four daughters, MRS. MILDRED DAVIS, MRS. RUTH WHEELER, MRS. THELMA TAYLOR, MRS. LOUELLA BERISH; and a sister, MRS. RALPH RICHARDS. Burial in Bridgeport Cemetery under the direction of the J.W. Kisinger Funeral Home. WILLIAMS, MRS. VIRGINIA M., 58, 5 Tower Court, Elgin, IL died Sept. 18, 1976 in her home. She was born July 18, 1918 in Pennsylvania, a daugther of the late MR. and MRS. CHARLES SNYDER and had lived in Elgin for the past 21 years. She was employed by the Elgin Warehouse. Survivors include her husband, LAWRENCE, a daughter, MRS. RICHARD VAUGHAN; a brother, CHARLES and a sister, MRS. WILLIAM DORR, of Brownsville. Funeral services were held in Elgin with burial in Lake Street Memorial Park Cemetery. EXTROM, MARY MARGARET, 62, of 8 Morris Turnpike, Randolph Twp, N.J. formerly of Brownsville died at her home, Sept. 29, 1976. She was born Feb. 14, 1914, the daughter of the late ALBERT J. and MARY KATHERINE O'BRIEN TAYLOR. She was a resident of New Jersey for approximately 30 years and was a retired school teacher of the Rockaway School District. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, California. Survivors include her husband, JOHN E., a son, JOHN E. JR., two daughters, MRS. M. MARGARET SMITH and MRS. ROBIN G. FICHTER. She was preceded in death by a brother, EDGAR TAYLOR in 1970. Burial in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, under the direction of the Homer L. Crawford Funeral Home, Brownsville. MAGLIETTA, JOSEPH, 66, an area watchmaker for 50 years, died Sept 24, 1976 in Brownsville General Hospital. He resided at 312 Church St. Brownsville. He was born Aug. 5, 1919 in Washington, PA, a son of the late JOSEPH and CARMELLA MAGLIETTA. He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Brownsville. Survivors include his wife, MRS. CATHERINE WATT MAGLIETTA; six children, HERBERT J., CARL, THOMAS, MRS. MARZHA FIELDER, DONALD, and RONALD. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, MARCO and two sisters, AGATHINA FALVO and PAULINE KARBLEY. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Brownsville and a life member of the Pioneers of America and a member of the National Trails Council of the Bell Telephone Co. Survivors include three sisters and a brother, MRS. GENEVIEVE FERGUSON, MRS. KATHRYN DICKINSON and MARION DUDZAK MILLER; and JOSEPH DUDZAK. Burial in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA. under the direction of the Andrew J. Skirpan Funeral Home, Brownsville. BAIRD, MRS. MARIE E., 59, of 319 Union St., California, PA. died in Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born in Brownsville, March 14, 1917, and educated in the Brownsvile Area schools. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Eastern Star, and the Mothers Club of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, JACK, in July of 1974. Survivors include one son, KENNETH; two brothers, CHARLES and WARREN LANE; three sisters, MRS. ISABELLE YOHE, MRS. CHARLOTTE TENTLEER, and ALICE STAIB. HOLDEN, LILY ALDEN APEIR, 81, wife of DR. PAUL P. HOLDEN, of 530 Walnut St., Waynesburg, died Oct. 15, 1976, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. She was a daughter of the late ALDEN JAMES ansd SARAH JAME WILLIAMS SPEIR, born, April 27, 1895 in Port Royal, Westmoreland County. Since DR. HOLDEN retired from the ministry, the couple have resided in Waynesburg. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Worthwhile Sunday School Bible Class, the WSCS, all of Waynesburg. Surviving in addition to her husband, whom she married Oct. 19, 1921, is a sister, MRS. ERNESTINE RUCKER. A son, CHARLES ALDEN HOLDEN, died Christmas Eve, 1930. Two brothers, JAY PAUL SPEIR and ERNEST SPEIR are also deceased.
