Mary A. SUMEGO Sheranek, age 91, of New Salem, Pa., passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004 in LaFayette Manor, Uniontown, Pa. She was born September 20, 1912 in Oliver, Pa., a daughter of Steve SUMEGO and Anna WASKO Sumego. Mary was a member of Saint Procopius Roman Catholic Church in New Salem, R.A.C.M., and The Procopians of the church. Preceding her in death were her husband, Michael D. SHERANEK, in 1961, a daughter, Marcella Csaplik, sisters, Martha Guy, Anna Frieberg, Catherine Bellish, Helen Magerko, and parents. Surviving are a son, Bernard SHERANEK and wife, Barbara, of Brownsville, Pa.; a daughter, Elaine Rozak and husband, John, of New Salem, Pa.; son-in-law, Frank Csaplik, of New Salem, Pa.; Grandchildren: Eugene, Michael, Frank Jr. and Rita Ann CSAPLIK, Sherry Barrett, Mary Beth SHERANEK, Bernard SHERANEK, Jr., Stacy Victor and Nicole Sheranek; Great Grandchildren: Jason CAPLIK, Rebecca Hmelyar, Eugene CSAPLIK, Jr., Michael CSAPLIK, Jr., Eric CSAPLIK, Joanie Kunz, Katelyn and E. Frank KLEPSKY, 67 of Mount Pleasant, R. D. 3, East Huntington Township, died Wednesday in Frick Community Health Center, Mount Pleasant. He was born Sept. 13, 1921, in Leisenring, a son on the late Joseph Klepsky and Anna Owad Klepsky Gurki. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by U.S. Steel Corp. at its Irvin Works, West Mifflin. He attended the Church of God in Mount Pleasant. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post #446, Mount Pleasant, and was also a member of East Huntington Township Sportsmen's Club and Hecla Sportsmen's Club. He is survived by his wife, Doris E. Yothers Klepsky; one son, Dennis, of Scottdale; one daughter, George (Linda) Hare of Mount Pleasant; four grandsons, and two great-grandsons. Sara Jane GUTH Morris, 85, of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, January 25, 2004 in Sharon Regional Hospital, Sharon, Pa. She was born November 4, 1918 in Perryopolis, Pa., daughter of Alphonse and Daisy MARSHALL GUTH. Preceding her in death were her husband Wilbert MORRIS, in 1974, three daughters Barbara Campbell, June Teets, and Alice Virginia Morris, a son Wilbert R. MORRIS, Jr., 14 siblings, and parents. Surviving are two daughters: Shirley Gibbs, of Uniontown, Pa., and Joyce Bostwick, of Fredonia, Pa.; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. Cora Marie ELLIOTT Magerko, 91, of Uniontown, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2004. She had been a recent resident of Hillside Manor and previously lived for 50 years on her farm in German Township, Fayette County, Pa. She was born April 4, 1912 in Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County, Pa. Mrs. Magerko formerly attended New Salem Presbyterian Church, and was a member of Franklin Grange. Preceding her in death were her parents George and Etta OHLER ELLIOTT, her husband Martin MAGERKO, a daughter Lillian MAGERKO Woods, five brothers William, Frank, Lloyd Charles and Robert ELLIOTT, and three sisters Bessie Long, Alice Newell and Ruth Pribisco. Surviving are two sons: Martin R. MAGERKO, Jr. and his wife, Gloria, of Footedale, Pa., and H. Bernard "Bernie" MAGERKO and his wife, Bev, of Merrittstown, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Hurst, of East Orwell, Ohio. Edwin was a member of Springhill Furnace Presbyterian Church, retired Pilot for West Virginia University, Veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers from 1941 until 1946, and a member of American Legion Post 0278, Smithfield, Pa., Fairchance Rod and Gun Club, and The National Rifle Association. He was predeceased by his wife, Emma FURLONG Mood, and parents. Andrew R. LOPTOSKY, 81, of Alverton, R.D. 3, died Saturday at Frick Community Health Center, Mount Pleasant. He was born Sept. 26, 1907 at Czechoslovakia, a son of the late Thomas and Mary Hanzes Loptosky. He was a member of St. John the Baptist RC Church of Scottdale. He was a retired coal miner with 30 years service with Maxwell Mines of Brownsville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Surviving are a brother, Joseph Loptosky, and a sister, Louise Loptosky, both of Alverton, and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Connellsville Senior Tigers, ladies auxiliaries of the American Legion of Connellsville, VFW and Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 493 and the Loyal Order of the Moose. she was a member of Sons of Columbus and its bocci league. She is survived by two sons, Robert Vanorsdale of Greensburg and August F. Miller of Beale Air Force Base, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. James (Linda) Kern of Florida, Mrs. Franklin (Gayle) Nogee of New Castle and Shirley Barnes of Dayton, Nev.; nine grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
