    1. Re: [PAFAY] your suggestions welcomed......
    2. Offhand I'd say search out the funeral home's records, if it's given on the certificate. Some of them are still with us today, some have consolidated, and others have just plain bit the dust (sorry...bad pun). If you post the name of the home, and the timeframe, I'll bet a lister out there will know if the records have been abstracted, extracted, or copied, and where to find them in Fayette. David

    1. RE: [PAFAY] Ludwick Snider- Anyone know him? (Also John Sheaffer)
    2. Lorin Snyder
    3. Hi, Ludwick Snyder is my 4-great-grandfather. He is the youngest son of Jacob and Magdalena (Bissinger) Schneider, of Frederick Co., Md. He came north to Fayette County along with his wife's (Garver) family (including Martin Stockman, Christian Garver, David Garver, Jacob Hershman, Michael Summers), and also a few of his own siblings (including Elizabeth Gallentine, Barbara Flack, and possibly Daniel, Jacob, Abraham and/or John Snyder). Ludwick's children spread out a bit. Jacob Snyder and Elizabeth Bobbs stayed in Lower Tyrone Township. John moved on to Ohio and then Iowa. Lewis Snyder moved to Ohio, where he remained. David Snyder and Polly Shaffer moved to neighboring Mount Pleasant Township, in Westmoreland County, and Ellen Smith ended up in (South?) Huntingdon, of the same county. 2. Dean Reinauer
    3. I just received the death certificate on the greatgrandfather Murray. Filling out the form for the family , was my husband's grandfather. I am frustrated, as no birthdate and or birth month appears on here!!!Nor was it enclosed in his obituary. Suggestions where I might obtain a document with his birthdate, month and day???? He did prior to ss (1925). Died in New Salem at home. I guess maybe I could try the funeral home..... any other thoughts? I know he is buried at St. Procopius in New Salem; as I have the information from the church, and his daughter in law. However, it indicates on the death certificate he was to be buried "Slovash". He was Irish; merged cemeteries? I ask since not being from the area, might have thrown me if I didn't know the church. I ask since I just came across my mothers death certificate (30 yrs ago)and it too has an error; they have her buried at a different cemetery and town then where she really is!!!!!!! I guess watch out for mistakes! Dean
