    3. Dean, Do you know his first name or approximate time frame for his birth? -----Original Message----- From: Dean Reinauer [mailto:DeanR@reinauer.com] Sent: Monday, January 26, 2004 2:17 PM To: PAFAYETT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PAFAY] your suggestions welcomed...... I just received the death certificate on the greatgrandfather Murray. Filling out the form for the family , was my husband's grandfather. I am frustrated, as no birthdate and or birth month appears on here!!!Nor was it enclosed in his obituary. Suggestions where I might obtain a document with his birthdate, month and day???? He did prior to ss (1925). Died in New Salem at home. I guess maybe I could try the funeral home..... any other thoughts? I know he is buried at St. Procopius in New Salem; as I have the information from the church, and his daughter in law. However, it indicates on the death certificate he was to be buried "Slovash". He was Irish; merged cemeteries? I ask since not being from the area, might have thrown me if I didn't know the church. I ask since I just came across my mothers death certificate (30 yrs ago)and it too has an error; they have her buried at a different cemetery and town then where she really is!!!!!!! I guess watch out for mistakes! 3. Dear Nancy, I found a James A. Garfield Bowers in the World War I Draft Cards. At that time he lived in Indian Head, Fayette County. He was born Sept. 9, 1883. He was a mine foreman at Harvard Coal Co. at Davistown, Fayette County. His nearest relative was Mrs. Ella Bowers of Indian Head. He was of medium height and medium build. He had gray eyes and light brown hair. The card was signed by H. R. Adams-Sept 12-1918. There is also a Garfield Bowers, age 26 in the 1910 PA Miracode Index, Fayette County. His wife is Ella, age 20, daughter Mary, age 3, Daughter Hazel NR, and Samuel Shipley, not related, age 16 living with Garfield Bowers. Even though this doesn't tell you where he went from there, I hope this helps a little.
