I have found a number of relatives using these obit, of which I am very happy to receive. I save all obits in a Word file that can be searched using word search. I have found numerous persons by using this means. The name that appears in the heading does not tell the whole story. It is the brothers, sisters, children and their spouses names which give me the most info to connect everyone together. Obits give us the family of a great aunt and uncle, which otherwise we would never know about. As our data bases get larger, it is harder to remember all the names we are looking for, using this method I can find a family, such as; Th Obit of John Jones, his wife is listed with her maiden name, this is the only reference I have for her. Please keep on posting them. If you have any obits, please send them to the list or me. Thank you and keep up the good work. I wanted to make a comment on the obituary posting issue. I apprecaite all the work that is being done for the benefit of others and for me, it does not take a lot of time for me to delete the obituaries. However from doing my research, I know that what you delete today might be of interest when you find you have a connection later on -- and then it might be too late! I am only at the 1860's level of my research in Fayette and really haven't been able to verify my great grandmother's family of origin. However when I do, I will have brothers and sisters to research and some of their descendents may be listed in these obituaries that I am deleting. Are the obituaries archived somewhere where a search can be done at a later date? And if not, I agree with the other Janet's suggestion that a way be found to archive them in a format that can be searched later on. Many thnaks to the people on this list who have been very helpful to me. Sincerely, Janet Watson

Just read Janet' response to me regarding the obit posting. I have no objection to the way they are posted. I read the ones of interest and delete the others. I must admit that I do not read any of the message board notes except those that appear in the lists to which I subscribe. I respond directly to the poster and not to the board. I do not read the boards themselves. Waste of time. I must also admit that I belong to several lists. Obits appear on all of them. The time taken from my research to review the subject line is minimal. I thank Ed for taking the time from his research to post the obits for all to read. Grant
