    3. Both! The handwriting is sometimes hard to read and I have seen some real "boo boos" on Ancestry. But to give them a little credit, it can be really hard to read that old writing (and a lot of new writing too!). This entry looked like "Childers" to me unless you knew what you were looking for. Just think of the census taker, writing things down without a desk, just leaning the forms on whatever was around and you can see why their handwriting is less than textbook perfect. Also sometimes the census taker didn't ask how people spelled their surname and wrote it down the way it sounded. Things often got pretty creative! That is why it is helpful when you can see the originals and decide for yourself what it supposed to say! 2. Dawne Temple
    3. I thought I should look under Donegal Township, 1930 because when Ancestry listed Garfield Bowers, they listed him as "Bown". So I looked for Garfield again and sure enough, the neighbors in house 28 are John Wilders and family. The handwriting on the "W" looks like "CH" if you don't know what you are looking for. At any rate John is age 26, first married at age 23. Wife Mary is 23, first married at age 20. There is also Robert, age 7 and Eugene, age 2. All were born in PA as were their parents. John is a laborer in a coal company and is not a veteran. Hope this helps! E.D. 65, page 2A. 3. Dear Nancy, I cannot find this Wilders family in the 1930 census. In Saltlick Twp., Fayette Co. in the 1930 census are these members of the Wilders family, all in Saltlick Twp. Geroge (probable George) D, age 31-Goldie S., age 26-Helen B., age 7-George, age 5-Gerald W.-age 3 and Thomas D. Wilders, age 0. In Westmoreland in the 1930 census were Charlie, age 64 of Mt.
