He was born Nov. 11, 1928, at Jeffries Crossing, son of the late Albert and Ann RICE LILLEY. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Albert LILLEY, Jr., and William LILLEY. Don was a member of the First Christian Church of New Salem, Pa., he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of VFW Post No. 47 of Uniontown, American Legion Post No. 51 of Uniontown, and the Bedford, Pa., Elks. He is survived by one sister, Betty Gorley, of Uniontown. Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, Pa., on Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 after 7 p.m., on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and until 1:30 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, the hour of service, with Pastor Andy Miles officiating.     3. Frank Sherwood, of Ewing, N.J., died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Tandem Nursing Home in Lawrenceville, N.J. Born in McMinnville, Ore., Mr. Sherwood resided in the Trenton area since 1959, and prior to that, in Southwestern, Pa. He was a self-employed credit and collections manager for over 50 years. Mr. Sherwood was a World War II Navy veteran serving in Hawaii with the Sea Bees. He was a former Lions Club member and an expert tennis player. Son of the late Aris M. and Eva Ellen MILLER SHERWOOD, he is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Renelda; one daughter, Ellen M. SHERWOOD, of Lamoine, Maine; one brother, Aris M. SHERWOOD, of San Diego, Calif.; and four nephews and two nieces. Graveside services will be held today at 1 p.m., in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery Chapel, Uniontown, Pa. She was born Jan. 26, 1920, in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of the late Curtis and Mayme SHAFFER KERN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. JACOBS, Sr., in 1967; two sons, Carl JACOBS and Charles E. JACOBS, Jr.; a granddaughter, Debbie Light; brothers, Merle and Thomas KERN; and sisters, Elizabeth KERN and Ida Mae KERN. Regina was a cook and custodian with Laurel Highlands School District for 20 years, before retiring. She was a member of the Democratic Committee Women for 30 years in the North Union Township District No. 2, and a lifetime member of Cove Run Free Methodist Church. Surviving are the following children, Ruthann Baker, of Norfolk, Va., and Curtis JACOBS and wife, Patricia, of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Linda Jacobs, of Ottsville, Pa.; a brother, Carl KERN, of Allison Park, Pa.; a sister, Ruth Atkinson, of Hopwood, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Carl, Terri Sue, Joanne, Jim, Ty, Brad and Tara; and six great-grandchildren, Heather, Shelby, Regina, William, Josh and Jason; and nieces and nephews.     3. Steve P. KALAFSKY, 87, of Greensboro, Pa., died at 1:35 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at the Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.VA. He was born June 1, 1916, in Masontown, Pa., a son of the late Martin and Anna KIKTA KALAFSKY. Mr. Kalafsky was a 1934 graduate of Monongahela Township High School at Mapletown, Pa., and resided in Greensboro most of his life. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in battles at Munich, Nuremberg, Colmar Pocket and the Rhine River with Company K, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. He received a Purple Heart for his injuries sustained during the war. Mr. Kalafsky owned and operated the Greensboro Cash Market for over 50 years, and was an organizing member of the former Fayette Grocer's Association. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church at Greensboro, and V.F.W. Post 6303. On Dec. 29, 1955, he married Gertrude MINKUS, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Stephen P. KALAFSKY and his wife, Diane, of Masontown, Pa.; two daughters, Janet K. Boord and her husband, Butch, and Judy L. Gashie and her husband, Tony, all of Greensboro; seven grandchildren, Brianna Boord, Chris Boord, Jesse Boord, Matthew Kalafsky, Melissa Winiecki, Jill Gashie and Lyndsey Gashie; a sister, Mary Eddy, of Waynesburg, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.     3. Excellent researching Louise. It makes sense that people post obits on the obit lists and those interested in them would subscribe to any or all of those lists. Then people only interested in research subscribe to this list and their mailboxes don't get overloaded. I get so much email I have 2 different addresses, 1 for genealogy and 1 for everything else. It sounds like some people do not have the situation with an email address like yahoo or hotmail where you have limited space and when it is full it rejects your mail and you do not get it. And Ellen, you can't unsubscribe, You are a Moss and I know as soon as I can get to this I am going to have some questions or sharing for you. He was a graduate of Connellsville High School in 1936 and attended Duquesne and Notre Dame Universities. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served with the U.S. Marines in Okinawa. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 21 of Connellsville and FO Eagles 493. Surviving are his wife, Genevieve Sherrick Duggan; a son, Arthur L. Duggan of Severna Park, Md.; two grandchildren; a brother, John Duggan of Connellsville, and four sisters, Virginia Duggan of Washington, D.C., Florence Tierney of Alexandria, Va., Eleanor Deas of Williamsburg, Va., and Joan Spear of Stone Harbor, N.J.
