Having multiple backups is more work, but if your data is valuable (and all Family History data is valuable), then it is worth it. I also write data to CD's about once a month. But this is generally raw data (PAF files, Word files, Excel files, etc.). What I do not do is store those backups somewhere away from my home for safety. I guess I will have to think about doing that. I have been thinking about hard drive crashes not fires.
