Amen to that! My Golden Rule of Genealogy is, "Don't believe anything you hear *or* anything you see!" Have the mindset, "Hmm.... I wonder if that's right," for everything you find. We all know there are tons of errors in online census indexes, in the censuses themselves, in compiled genealogies, in uploaded user files. But there are errors in many original primary records, too. Be cautious. Be diligent. Prove it -- or disprove it, as Pat said.
