Is there a way to view secondary parents (such as biological when adopted are set as the primary set of parents) from the family view. You can click on the "other parents" icon, but this won't let you open up their record for viewing. It only lets you add, unlink sets of parents. The only way I can see to get into the record it to click on the individual tab and search for those parents. Is there an easier, more direct way? Thanks, Melanie
Hi Melanie, One way to link to the other set of parents is to highlight the child in question on the Family screen - from the main menu ---- Search > Descendancy List --- the resultant sub-window will show both families that the child is linked to --- in this sub-window, select any other individual (i.e., one of the other parents) and press OK, will revise the Family screen to have the selected individual in the main parent position with their associated family. I find it very easy to use this to swap between family views and like a lot of PAF features, is easier in practice than the explanation! This feature is also an alternative means of navigating around your database. Good luck.
