    1. How can I create a GedCom WITHOUT certain info
    2. John Waugh
    3. Hello: Is there a way, via existing options in PAF 5, to Export or otherwise create a VERY BASIC version of a GedCom which will NOT include extra events or data? I have checked the help file and I have found the way to export data WITHOUT notes and sources, and successfully done that. But then found that it still includes all the 'extra' events which show on the 'edit individual' screen, such as 'Nickname', 'Also Known As', as well as 'Physical Description', 'Cause of Death', etc. (when this info exists in those fields of course) But I am interested in creating only the most basic GedCom with Birth date/place, Death date/place, Burial date/place, and Marriage date/place for each individual (intent is to include Spouse as well). I surmise I could do an export to a new GedCom, create a new PAF file, import that new GedCom then manually delete all that extra unwanted info for each individual, then save that, or save as another name, and then do another new GedCom Export from that stripped down file. This seems cumbersome and I'm wondering if there is a means to accomplish this within the program. I did try using filters, but that didn't seem to get me where I wanted. Thanks very much in advance, and let me take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE who contributes to this list as I have learned so much from reading all the posts these past couple of years. 2. In PAF 5.2 you can click on FILE and select EXPORT. On the Export screen you can select earlier versions of PAF, such as 2.3.1 and then on the right hand side UNcheck all the Other items. I believe this gives you what you are looking for.
