Here's another puzzlement. I like seeing the relationship indicator. Yesterday, while I was several generations deep, I was wondering about one person and what her relationship to me was. But it wasn't showing at the bottom of the window. I tried others in the same family. Some showed the relationship, others didn't. Does anyone know why this happens? Obviously, if I know the relationship of one girl as my 5th great grand aunt, any of her sisters will also be the same relationship, and her brothers will be 5th great grand uncles. But why does it only show the relationship for some and not for others? It makes no difference whether it's a direct line individual or a sibling. Sometimes it shows, other times not. Anyone know why? Linda
Hi Linda. The relationship indicator is not automatically updated. When you make changes to the database, you will need to rerun the indicator in the Preferences menu. If that doesn't fix the problem, then there must be something wrong with the linkages in the database. Next, I would try the relationship calculator and see if it shows the relationship you expect. If that doesn't work, then my inclination is to dump everything to GEDCOM and reload it. Richard Rands At 08:36 AM 5/16/2005 -0600, Linda wrote: >Here's another puzzlement.
