    3. Yes, a GEDCOM only carries with it the sources on those people. I literally copied the entire PAF database and renamed the file, no GEDCOM involved. (Leaving me with two databases - MyRealDatabase.paf and MyNewCopy.paf) Then Advanced Focus / Filter, relationship filter All, Delete is a very very quick way to clean out an entire database. But it leaves all the sources in your source list intact. <snip> This is a clever solution when you have a manageable number of individuals you can delete. The important detail to keep in mind is that when you create a GEDCOM, only those sources, repositories, and citations associated with the individuals selected for the GEDCOM are copied into the GEDCOM. So this technique is selective and if you want the entire list of sources, you will have to select the entire database of individuals.
