    3. The problem with this question is the variety of formats and layout you can have in you Excel "database". Are you just trying to transfer vital records or do you also have linked relationships? I have looked around this one before and found the following options. There is a program here written in VBA for Excel. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://ahnenforschung.net/users/GedTool.html&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dgedcom%2Bto%2Bexcel%26start%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DN You will find a number of solutions if you search on Google. Also have a look at: A "knife and fork"method http://www.tedpack.org/text2ged.html The French seem keen on this idea too: TransGed: a simple one http://216.239.39.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://www.visuged.org/fcttg.htm&prev=/search%3Fq%3Danachron%2Bgedcom%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DG Anachron: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.correze-genealogie.org/Federation/sites.htm&prev=/search%3Fq%3Danachron%2Bgedcom%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DG There is also a macro within "Ancestor Access" http://home.att.net/~douglas.parrish/home.htm which is a Microsoft Access database that converts the Access database tables into a Gedcom. The challenge is getting your data into Access. This latter one has been my preferred approach. Contact me off list if you need nay specific help. Regards Graham
