Hi Graham, This is a PAF reporting problem that has perplexed me for years. The objective being - other than on the PAF system - to review or pass on details of all the sources held for each - or any individual on the database. I can give you a method for doing this - but it is not for the faint hearted - and you need to have pretty good Excel skills. It brings together: - Individual Event Sources - Individual Sources - Marriage Event Sources But not Family Sources! (Only because the Citation List Report in Standard PAF does not access them either!) Without dragging out the nitty gritty individual steps - the outline of the method is: 1. Produce a print-to-file report for each 'Citation Referencing a source' - results in a rtf (rich-text) file for each report. 2. Save each rtf file as txt (text) file. 3. Open each txt file in Excel (in turn) - specifying the only field delimiter as a full stop. 4. As each txt file is opened as an Excel file and the columns adjusted to view the data there may be exceptional problems that need correction - when a full stop has been used in a Name field (after any initials) - such exceptions need the data now in further columns to be cut & pasted to conform with the majority column layout. 5. Copy the source title and the block of citation details to a master combined spreadsheet. (The source title needs to be copied/pasted into each citation line). 6. When completed - the combined spreadsheet - using some clever Excel formulae (hence the Excel expertise) the details in the name field can be separated out to separate columns for RIN, Surname, Other Names & Source Type (Birth/Death etc + Individual). 7. The resulting spreadsheet can then be sorted to your requirements - i.e. - Surname/Other Names/RIN and your report can now present the source citation details held for each event for each individual. As I said above - you need to be determined to do tackle this. And because the basic PAF Citation report does not access Family sources, they are missing - and in my use of sources, regrettably it does not access the Source Comment field either. Only a partial work around and labour intensive - roll on a better feature in the next version! I will be very interested in any other approaches to this problem. It seems these fields are inaccessible only on group sheets and the special list of citations for sources report. Marriage citations appear to be even more inaccessible. Advice or workarounds most welcome. Graham ==== PAF-5-USERS Mailing List ==== PAF-5-USERS Mailing List Search http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=PAF-5-USERS
