    3. In addition to Alan's excellent advice, it is important to determine WHY you have those duplicates so the problem does not return. There are two main reasons. Either you entered the same information twice, or you have imported GEDCOM files from someone/somewhere else or downloaded from the Internet. If you recently imported a GEDCOM, you might be able to restore a backup file created before the import and thereby wipe out all the duplicates brought in that way.
