Hi Patricia, This is sort of an ambiguous question because you don't indicate what your relative plans to do with the Word doc when he or she gets it. The standard method of handling genealogy data outside of a computer database is to have a big stack of pedigree charts and family group records. So if your relative just wants to have a copy of your PAF file, you can generate the pedigree charts and family group records as reports sent to a file, and then send them to your relative. They can be printed out on hard copy, or displayed on the screen as rtf files in Word. However, if your relative does plan to import your PAF data into a computer program, chances are he or she is using a program that has GEDCOM and just is not aware of how to access it. Some of the programs don't explicitly call their import routine by the name of GEDCOM. Perhaps a little more info will make it easier to answer your question. Richard Rands
