    1. Search for towns

    3. Hello I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. I'm trying to learn how to search for people who were born or died in a particular town. For example. I want to find all the people in my file who were born (or married or died) in Dubbo. The surname is irrelevant, as there would be more than one, and with the size of my file now, I can't scroll down the individual window any more. How do I go about doing this? thanks in advance regards Regina Genealogical information is at: http://www.gencircles.com/users/regina1/4 No longer maintain my website. May put up another one one day. Who knows? ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Messenger - NEW crystal clear PC to PC calling worldwide with voicemail http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com

    3. here is how I would do this. create an advanced filter. start with the menu item of Search\individual. this will open a find individual window. next you want to click on the advanced>> button. and then on the field filter define button here is where you create the filter. I would suggest using the anyplace field, select it and click on the > button, this will pop up a field filter window and you will need to select a radio button of which part of the place and the select the type of match. this combo box drop down has many option and then a value/text field. once you have created the field filter, click the ok in the field filtering window and the filtering has happened. those individuals which pass the filter are highlighted with a ">". to just show those individuals check the filtered list show results only and you have your list. using this list you can create a custom report to print the individuals. hope this points you in the right direction. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Regina Craig" <regina_craig@yahoo.com.au> To: <PAF-5-USERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 20, 2005 9:43 PM Subject: [PAF-5] Search for towns > Hello > I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. > I'm trying to learn how to search for people who were > born or died in a particular town. > For example.
