I don't know that I'd call this "bad", just inconvenient. I've downloaded drivers both at home and at the FHC (still on Windows 98) and it only takes a minute. It would be nice if the industry had a package of drivers so that we didn't have to download for each kind of flash drive, but then there really aren't that many, so it's still just an issue of convenience.
