    1. Re: [PAF-5] How do I?

    3. If you are both using PAF-5 you can do this by highlighting your nephew's name in the family sheet, then select File\Print Reports. At the reports page, be sure you check the box, "Print to File". You'll want a single page Pedigree chart with 5 generations. Preview it and if it is what you want select Print. This will generate an RTF file in Microsoft Word or in some versions of Word Perfect, if you both use one of those work processors. You can attach the RTF file to an email. The way PAF-5 generates charts, (everything in a text box), they are very difficult to edit. The next step would be to select File\Export, PAF-5, Selected Individuals-Partial and click Select. On the next screen, set the Sort to Alphabetical, Relationship Filter to Ancestors, click the clear button to clear any individuals that may already be selected , then click Select. This will bring up another screen where you can set the number of generations to be selected. When you have set 5 generations and who all should be included click OK, OK. Name the GEDCOM and Export it. Attach it to an email and now your nephew can have his own mini PAF file. It seems to me I have seen these instructions somewhere in the PAF-5 help files.
