Go into a persons record (make it a dummy record for safety sake) Options New Event Occupation Edit There are three tick marks at the top of the screen Use Date Use Place Use Description. Un-tick the ones you may not choose to use. This is a uniform config through the database, not singular for your event. If you take Date off once, its off for everybody. I have not experimented to see if you lose pre-existing data when you do this or if its just hidden. When you establish a new event, you also need to configure the text output format. This structures the what in which the even information is output to the reports.
