I wonder if anyone can advise me where and how this information is best added to PAF: Mary HICKMAN (widow) had a son - George Smith HICKMAN - baptised in 1829. At a hearing at Oxford Quarter Sessions responsibility for this child was laid at the feet of two men (the mind boggles): John SMITH and John WELLER. Since Mary gave the child the name of George SMITH HICKMAN, it would seem that she laid the 'blame' at John SMITH's door! George was born between Mary's first marriage to Thomas HICKMAN, and her second marriage to Joseph CRIPPS. Her third marriage was to John SMITH!
