    1. Re: [PAF-5] GEDCOMs
    2. The version of PAF for a MAC is PAF 2.3. The GEDCOM standard itself has been enhanced since then. You would want to do an Export to PAF 2.1-2.3 A GEDCOM file is a standard text file that can be read by either a MAC or a PC. The difficulty usually comes in regard to how to get the file there, since older MACs can not read a PC disk. Of course if you are emailing it, there should be no problem. But keep in mind some of your fields may not come through for the, since they might have been established after PAF 2.31. > From: "Dick Cazier" <dcazier@comcast.net> > Date: 2005/08/18 Thu PM 01:32:40 EDT > To: PAF-5-USERS-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [PAF-5] GEDCOMs > > I need some advise. I just met a cousin who is doing genealogy and is using a Mac with the last version of PAF that was designed for use with a Mac. I'm using the latest version of PAF 5. > > When preparing a GEDCOM to send to her, which type of file should I use: PAF5, PAF4, etc. And are any of them readable by the Mac program. And vice versa, if she send me one created on a Mac, can my PAG 5 read it. > > Thanks. > Dick Cazier > Lakewood, Colorado > > > ==== PAF-5-USERS Mailing List ==== > FamilySearch Internet Genealogy Service > http://www.familysearch.org/ > >
