    3. Hi John, I'll assume that your problem does not occur at any other time or in any other software program. And I'll assume that it does not happen every time you enter a new child. The fact that pressing ESC a few times clears up the problem, indicates that the condition you describe is caused by your machine running off in some loop somewhere that is not allowing your mouse to get an interrupt into the operating system. Pressing ESC is the brute force way of causing an interrupt to stop the loop. The cause can be a variety of things, but the bottom line is that there is some rare combination of conditions in your configuration that is causing your response to the Sex question to go off in the loop. It is probably something in the way the routines in PAF were installed and how they were linked together to form the PAF configuration. I suggest you reinstall PAF with nothing else running. You will need to go into the task manager and stop everything that is not essential before you do it. The install routine cannot possibly foresee every possible circumstance when it puts together all the routines for PAF, and you may have one that gets in the way. If this doesn't solve the problem, get back to me. 3. And if a clean reinstall does not solve the problem, check for an updated mouse driver. I had a weird problem a few years ago where clicking a certain pattern would freeze Internet Explorer. The problem was NOT actually with IE but with the mouse driver. So just because it is PAF that is showing the problem does not necessarily mean it is the root cause. Also, to be sure ALL files and registry entries get written properly, first uninstall PAF (you will not lose your data files), reboot, then close all running programs as Richard suggested, including closing or disabling the antivirus, and then reinstall. 3. Thanks Richard, Gary and Lorin (?) for your suggestions. Now that you mention it I do (or did-I'm not sure if I got rid of it) occasionally have a mouse problem that may be related. Once in awhile when I'm using Internet Explorer my mouse will freeze-I can't move the arrow at all. I have to shut my computer down. When I start up the mouse will work again.
