    1. Re: [PAF-5] nFS What is the address for the New Family Search

    3. Donna, The address is new.familysearch.org (no www.) The website is still in development, although the term "beta" is no longer used. So far, to register you have to be a member in one of the temple districts that have made the change-over. Or you can be a FHC director (or assistant director) and have access to register. Family History Consultants and leaders in the TDs that are in the 90-day roll-out period can register for nFS if they have registered at consultant.familysearch.org at least 3 business days previously. (In actual practice, the delay is about a week.) It is expected that all LDS will have access to nFS by the end of 2008, and that the general public will have access by the end of 2009. This is probably more information than you asked for, but I didn't want to give the impression that nFS is currently available to everyone who goes to the website. The engineers have scheduled some more improvements before making it available to everyone. Also, by phasing it in over a period of time, it keeps the technical support work-load more manageable. In the meantime, the present FamilySearch.org website continues to offer its usual services, and Record Search at http://www.familysearchlabs.org/ gives access to some of the recently indexed databases. And http://www.familysearchindexing.org provides opportunities to everyone who wants to help with indexing the 2 million+ microfilms in the Granite Mountain vaults.
