    3. Donna, There is a chance that RTF files are associated with Windows Wordpad instead of Word 2003. Wordpad is not able to interpret the advanced formatting and you see garbage. If you exit Wordpad without editing or saving the RTF file, and then open the RTF file from Word's File menu, the problem will probably disappear. If that is what is happening, you should be able to have the files open in Word by associating Word with RTF files. To do this, go to the folder where an RTF file is located, right-click on the file's icon > Open With > Choose Program > check mark "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" > MS Word > OK Let us know if this solves the problem. 3. Bill I did that already. What happens is that it opens in Word but I have like little Paragraphs Symbols beside each line. You can read what is there but it is not in the FGR Form with the lines and boxes like it is suppose to be. Maybe I have Word not formatted right or something.??? I have that paragraph symbol that I cannot get rid of. 3. Maybe the third time is the charm, as they say. This is actually my report on the conversion of PDF files to other formats. This time I am just replying without changing the Subject line, in case that was the problem. Zamzar.com WAS able to convert the two PDF files to Word format. One of the PDF files was a 24 page Modified Register Report and the other was a full page graphic file. It took Zamzar about an hour. The link that they emailed to me didn't work, but they also directed me to their website, where there was a download link to a zip archive containing my converted files. Clicking this link downloaded my files to my computer. The files looked perfect in Word. There was heavy use of text boxes, which is excellent for retaining the original formatting, but can be awkward to edit. (PAF probably makes heavier use of text boxes.) I was pleased to get my converted files back in a reasonable time and that the service was free. So consider this (and similar services) when you need to convert a PDF to text. Bill Buchanan
