I don't use a burial date unless I have no death date. Sometimes cemetery records only include the burial date. I do enter the burial place, including the name of the cemetery if it is known. Once I find the actual death date (via a death certificate or obituary), I then delete the burial date. I don't think in most cases that it is critical data, but perhaps someone will share a good reason to include a burial date!
