    3. The only CORRECT format is one that other People (the reader) will understand what is meant. There are recommended formats. The one I use, based on 25 years of experience, is to ensure the month is shown in Characters, not numbers. This can be 12 Jan 1920, or Jan 12 1920, or 1920 Jan 12. Any worthwhile genealogy program will facilitate one of the above formats.
