    1. Re: [PAF-5] PAF-5-USERS Digest, Vol 3, Issue 39
    2. Dear listers, Since you are working with a PAF 5 data file, the correct format as far as paf5datescanner is concerned is what PAF 5 allows. You will note that PAF 5 will accept a variity of date formats but always converts the date you input to a format of ddmmyyyy or the format you select in your preferences. 1. Re: [PAF-5] Date Issues in PAF
    2. Gaylon Findlay
    3. Let me make one clarification to this. If PAF can figure out what the date is, then it converts it to an internal format as mentioned. Later, when it displays, it, the date is displayed according to your preference settings. If PAF can't figure it out, then it alerts you that the data is not a standard date, and it stores the text exactly as you entered it, and will display it in the future exactly as you entered it. For example, you could enter that an event happened on the "2nd Thursday after the Harvest moon", or "The day after my grandmother passed away" I expect that a utility to examine dates will flag these as potential problem dates.
