    3. Stephen, I think you have a good grasp of what to do. (The order of the two steps is not important.) 1. Copy your PAF data files (they will normally have names ending in ".paf") from the flash drive to a folder of your choice on the hard drive. I copy them to Documents, other people create special folders for them. 2. Install PAF5 from http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp?page=home/welcome/simplePAFRegistration.asp or go to https://www.familysearch.org/ > click Go to previous site > click Download PAF, and follow through with the prompted steps. Windows7 will install PAF in its x86 folder used for most 32-bit software. On my Windows7 laptop, Windows7 does not automatically recognize the PAF data files as belonging to PAF. This means that I need to open them from within PAF's file menu, rather than double-clicking the data file's icon. I usually use a single large PAF file, so I leave it open when shutting down PAF and it automatically re-opens the next time I start PAF. Except for this quirk, my PAF works identically on Windows7 (64-bit) and Windows vista (32-bit) -- Bill Buchanan website: http://billbuchanan.byethost17.com blog: http://billbuchanan.blogspot.com On Sat, May 14, 2011 at 8:01 AM, Stephen D.
