I wanted to capture a large family photo of gggrampa's family. The framed photo was big enough that when I took it out of the frame my scanner could scan only part of it. I did 4 scans, 1 from each corner, and then a 5th scan along one side just to tie it all together and fed the 5 jpeg files into a program called 'autostich' and it automatically recognized how the several images overlapped and stitched them all together to produce on image file that combined all of the image. http://www.photo-freeware.net/autostitch.php ( noted an advertising link to another product that claims to do about the same thing. And they have a free version too.)
