Hi Marion It sounds like you had a short cut on your old computer for each of three separate family tree files and on the new you have three shortcuts to PAF Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) Hi Gary Thanks for your help. Usually I have had only three tree son the desktop and whichever one I clicked on it would open that tree. Now I got a new laptop I transferred a lot of stuff and got the 3 others on the desktop and that is when I encountered when opening either one that I always got the tree last opened. I am kind of confused about it...I wonder why on XP I got whichever tree I clicked on. Marion
