I am having trouble with a gedcom file for my brother-in-law. Created the gedcom file with about 114 people and 44 marriage of his family. Saved it, then when I first open it to check the file all is fine. Then when I go to check it again before sending it has changed to me and all my paf file. What am I doing wrong, is it because my sister is connected to me that this happens. Regards Maureen Cook
Hi Maureen, Most likely you are the root person when you did the GEDCOM. Open it and change the root person to who ever by going to tools, preferences, then click on File tab and click the use and search for the entry you want. then re-gedcom it and then when it opens again as paf file it should now be on your brother-in-law as root person. I thinks this is the easier way don't for get to backup before trying anything. Cheers Stephen Hillier Esperance Western Australia -----Original Message----- From: Maureen J.
