Ethel, I think you have stumped us. Before your do anything make several copies of your best backup file. Don't restore yet just make copies. One other thing. Open each file and click on file and then properties. See how many individuals and marriages are in each file. I'm not like Bill. I'm not afraid of typing in data. Ethel, I can't see how that could happen unless they were all merged into other people. Check the individual list for the missing people. Also check whether this is a different file than the one those people were in. Aloha All, Is there a way to merge two different sources into one like we do with individuals? I made a mistake and created a same second source with a slightly different name when I already had that one. I see where there is a item under the "Tools" dropdown menu "Merge Duplicate Sources and Citations" I have clicked on it and it did something but not what I wanted to do. What it did I have no clue what ever it did it did it 31 times, ha... Any thoughts.... Thanks Earl

Just make a copy and give it a different name and you can check both to see differences in individual files if someone is on twice. I have opened one file in both PAF and AQ. PAF opens fully, and AQ can be opened in read only format. (There is a free AQ version if you don't already have it.) Bea --- On Sat, 1/29/11, B.H. Kemp <bkgenea@yahoo.com> wrote: > From: B.H. Thank you, Bea I was not aware that I had to have different names for each file; I thought I could have the same file open side by side. Betsy Hare Kemp
Shoulda mentioned it in my earlier note "be very careful using 'eject' as it right next door to "Format" and you probly don't want to do that. Col
When you're ready to take it out and before you do, right click on it and click on Eject in the drop down menu. Col
Kent, There is no way to update the temple code list in PAF so the new codes will be in the drop down menu. However, you can enter the new codes into PAF (in the individual and marriage records) and it will grudgingly accept them. When it gives you the invalid temple code notice click OK or whatever it asks for. The new code will be saved in your data file. You can get a list of all temple codes at http://www.ldschurchtemples.com/codes/ Lynn -----Original Message----- From: Kent Rhoton <krhoton@citlink.net> To: Paf-5-users@rootsweb.com Sent: Fri, Jan 28, 2011 11:57 am Subject: [PAF-5] LDS Temple Codes My version of PAF5 does not include many of the LDS temple codes for the newer emples. Is there any way to update this list in PAF or make PAF accept the new odes for these new temples? ------------------------------ o unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PAF-5-USERS-request@rootsweb.com ith the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of he message
