I have a possible solution for those "out of towners" who are looking for Pennsylvania newspapers. Try the State Library of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg (www.statelibrary.pa.us). They have many newspapers from NW PA on microfilm, which can be checked out. You could try interlibrary loan as well. The library webpage has a search form as well, which can narrow down the search. Enter Erie County and newspapers as an exact phrase and you'll get the list of what they have. Off the top of my head, they have the Erie Weekly Gazette from 1850-, the Erie Times from the 1880s, the Union City papers from the early 1900's, some Corry papers, etc. Regards, Patrick Knierman Gettysburg, PA
