Although this mail list goes through a filter process at Rootsweb, several list administrators in PA have advised that they are getting a substantial number of 'rejected' messages containing the Snow White worm virus that is properly known as W95.Hybris.Gen. As there are probably a lot of new computer users at this time, the chances to get this worm virus in private e-mail increases. Symantec (Norton Anti-Virus) has this at the top of their list. Although I do not like to use a genealogy mail list to advise about viruses and worms, the fact that several list administrators have been discussing it on the 'administrators' mail list, prompts me to bring this to everyone's attention and to urge each of you to make sure your have your PCs properly protected with your favorite anti-virus program, and urge you to make sure you have updated your virus definitions file with the various methods built into each anti-virus software.
