If it is particularly a certificate you are after, you are out of luck. Pennsylvania did not require the reporting of deaths until 1906. Therefore, no death certificates before then. If you are looking simply to document a death there are other sources: the courthouse in Erie has some death records 1892-1906. The Erie Society for Genealogical Research has an index to births, marriages and deaths printed in Erie newspapers 1822-1906. Another source is church records.
