For all of you not in the Erie area, winter returned today, immediately after the groundhog saw his shadow. It is about 10 degrees and we have had several inches of snow, refreezing the melting and recovering the clear ground. Friday's web site work for http://www.rootsweb.com/~paerie was the complete upload of all of the St. John's RC Church Baptismal data provide by Marion Fromkneckt. This baptismal data is around 500 names of just family members (its a big family!) from the period 1869 to 1908. The data is currently presented in tables covering 5 year periods. An energetic project for someone would be to make a name index of the data. As posted on the St. John's Baptismal Records introduction page, Marion is seeking someone to do proofreading, and/or someone to help her with actual visits to the church to transcribe other names. Church records can be a valuable source of early genealogical history. Anyone having access to records similar to what Marian has provided, no matter how small in number of records, please let me know. One other change was made to the site, and that is on the What's New page. As this page was getting long, I archived items from Sept - Dec 2000 to another page, with appropriate links.
