Hello List, August, being a traditional vacation month, finds that I will not have a theme for the Erie Co (PA) Genealogy website. As I always do, I have many, many submissions, some dating back a year or more, that I will be working on. Of course, anyone who does come across pictures, information, listings, transcriptions of old documents, or anything else that is related to genealogy in Erie County, I always welcome them. Believe it or not, sometimes new submissions are so good, that I post them right away. Please visit the website at http://www.rootsweb.com/~paerie and take a look at some of the 593 "pages" that have been posted as of August 1st, early AM. We have lost contact with our previous coordinator for Wayne Township, so I am looking for a coordinator for that township, and for tiny Lawrence Park Twp which has never had a coordinator. Several other township coordinators have remained, but have indicated that they really do not have sufficient time to address the needs of their township. If anyone on this list is interested in "having your name in print" and being a township coordinator, please contact me privately, with your "township of expertise", and we will see what we can work out. Our monthly theme will return in September with our annual favorite for the month, Schools. I am particularly interested in late 1800s - early 1900s school souvenir booklets or sheetlets, or any class photos prior to about 1940. I am still working on some of my cemetery theme updates, but do want everyone to know that I have been spending a lot of computer time at my second favorite site - Find-A-Grave. I now have over 6300 pictures posted, mostly of cemetery gravestones in Erie County. Probably the three cemeteries with the most pictures are Laurel Hill, Erie Cemetery and the Soldiers & Sailors Home. Find-A-Grave has just gone through a major upgrade, and there are some upgrade bugs still being worked on, but I do intend to update my Findagrave Index page with new numbers and additional cemeteries. That's all for now. Bill Klauk Volunteer County Coordinator, Erie Co (PA) Genealogy, USGenWeb/PAGenWeb project Rootsweb Message Board Administrator, Erie Co (PA)
