    3. I have been trying to research my dad's LEE family in Erie Co.--Northeast, PA to be exact. My dad's father, William (Bill) John Lee, divorced my dad's mother, Jean Walling about 1940 and rumor was he remarried within 10 years or so after that. His parents were George LEE and Mary Louise MCLAUGHLIN. George's parents were John Edward LEE and Margaret MOSTON. We just recently found an old letter that had the woman's name tha William married after my grandmother. Her name is Mrs. CARMEN (Valerie/Valery) FARBO. Her maiden name was SORGER. We do know that apparently growing up, (when she was a SORGER), she lived in the 1300 block of W. 10th Ave in Erie in a house once occupied by Bill BRENNAN's family. The letter says that Bill Brennan was an architect and his wife worked for the Dept. of Public Welfare. The letter says that before WWII, Brennans sold the house to the Sorger family, who they believe later sold it to Dr. JACKMAN and in 1982 it was owned by Warren JONES. This Valerie FARBO, in 1982, was supposed to be living at 3431 W. 41st St. in Erie. This info was given to my aunt at the time from a Jean or Joan CRONIN wife of Bob DAILEY, former county official. So if any of these family names ring a bell, they may be friends of this family that could get me some info on them. William Lee basically disappeared sometime after 1948 or so. Rumors were he was killed in a bar fight in Mexico, but no one knows for sure, not even his own mother. If anyone can possibly find out any further info based on this new info, it would be greatly appreciated. Someone already researched the Erie Co. marriage records for William LEE around that time and didn't find any. Some suggestions have been to check out the Ripley, NY area. That is where he married my Grandmother. I intend to check that out. I also got a phone number for the house that Mrs. Farbo lived in, and is now occupied apparently by her daughter in law. I've called and only got an answering machine, so I may just write a letter. Basically, my dad would like to know if this Mrs. Carmen (Valerie) Farbo did marry William Lee, his dad. And did they have any children? I guess the years would be sometime between 1940-1955 or so. I have access to the census info and cannot find much info that would help. I really need directory info for the 1940-55 years that might tell me if they were living together. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Laurel Anderson

    3. Hi, Cousin Laurel!!! I don't have any info to speak of about your Lee side, but according to my FamilyTreeMaker file, I'm your 2nd cousin once removed -- and, more importantly, I have lots of information on the Walling line that I'd be delighted to share with you! [I belatedly realized that I may well have corresponded with Laurel previously, thus having nothing new to offer her, but hey! -- she may be able to link to my own Lee family in West Virginia!] Anne Lurie Raleigh, NC ----- Original Message ----- From: "Laurel Anderson" <landerson@zoominternet.net> To: <PAERIE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 16, 2003 2:57 PM Subject: [PAERIE] Lees of Northeast, PA, Erie Co. > I have been trying to research my dad's LEE family in Erie > Co.--Northeast, PA to be exact.
