I don't know if the Genealogy Room of the Erie Public Library has a copy of the 1908/1909 yearbook for Strong Vincent high school, but I do know they have many of the old yearbooks for Erie. If I remember correctly, some of them date back to the 1890s or so. My husband's gg-uncle, Seth STEINER, graduated from Erie High School in 1909. It was a thrill for us to discover his yearbook picture when we visited the library in 1997. Info about how to contact the library can be found at <http://www.rootsweb.com/~paerie/resources.html>. Good luck! Gaylene Kerr Banister Houston, TX [email protected] http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~banister/index.html
Hi fellow Listers! I work for my local school district and they have yearbooks dating back pretty far. I've seen them, but don't know how far back they go. Our district also has high school records dating back to the 1880s on microfilm. I got mine (graduated in 1980) just the other day. They even had my attendance record!! My suggestion would be to contact the superintendent's office in the school district you are looking in and ask what kind of records they have. You just might get more than yearbook information. I know people have contacted our district to get past records. It is worth a try. And as Gaylene mentioned, the public library is another good place to check. Best of luck!!!
