    3. The name seems to have been more commonly spelled Kepler. The only Keplors in the 1800 census index, e.g., are Jacob 1 and Jacob 2 in Centre Co., PA. There was one Peter Kepler in the 1800 census index, in Adams Co., PA. I found this one book with a likely reference to your Peter. History of Erie County, Pennsylvania containing a history of the county, its townships, towns, villages, schools, churches, industries, etc., portraits of early settlers and prominent men, biographies, history of Pennsylvania, statistical and miscellaneous matter, etc., etc. Chicago: Warner, Beers & Co., 1884 ... page 179, in a bio of Milton Shreve, b. Union Twp., it says that Milton's father Richard md. Margaret, dau of Peter Kepler, whose wife was said to have cooked the first meal in Wattsburg. Richard Shreve was a bro-in-law of Jacob Kepler. Sadly, it does not name Peter Kepler's wife. Perhaps researching the Shreve family would turn up something. ------------------------------------------ --- Jill Hubbell <jillhubbell@txucom.net> wrote: > I am looking for more information on Margaret > Keplor's family.
