Perhaps Carmen is another form for it. Farbo is a name I find with my Scalises who came from Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy to Erie. I have a Great-Uncle Carmine Borelli who went by Charles in America. If you want to see Charles Borelli, look in the most recent copy of "Genealogical Computing" (Jan, Feb, March 2003) on page 8. There is a picture there of his tombstone which has his portrait on it. He is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Erie. Not much help. But since you have an address and a time, you could check city directories and see who all was living in the household.
