    3. Hi: I just checked last week on Alms House records here -- St. Joseph's, Erie Alms House, Old Ladies Home, and Home of the Friendless were all county run. The records are currently housed in the basement of the courthouse. I will be making an appointment to search for these records within the next couple of weeks (I live here in Erie) and will also be checking at the Erie Genealogical Society within that period to see if they have anything. Anyone interested in records from these 4 places can e-mail me privately and I will do my best to see if I can find anything for you. When my appointment is made (they require one for basement searches) I will let everyone know. 3. Joyce: Thanks for your kind offer. One question I have is ......would you know the dates of operation of these homes? Or a place to look them up? I am interested in the period 1850-1875.
