Although I don't know anything about Hardin DeVitt, the mention of Hammermill brings back memories. I don't recall ever having seen the mill, as we lived out in Fairview west of Erie, but our summer neighbor was Norman Wilson; at the time he was [I think] Chairman of the Board and/or CEO. I believe my dad said that Mr. Wilson had worked his way up the ladder after starting at Hammermill when in his teens -- a real "Horatio Alger" story! Hardin DeVitt, I believe was the owner of the Company. He had a son, Robert, who would be in his 70s by now. > Thanks. > Bob Phillips > > > ==== PAERIE Mailing List ==== > Welcome to the PA-Erie Mailing List > To leave PAERIE-L, send mail to PAERIE-L-request@rootsweb.com with the single word unsubscribe in the message subject and body.
