Hello, I have a good question. I have a Charles Thomas Hall in my ancestry that family legend says was killed by Native Americans around 1850 in Erie County. Does anyone know if there was some kind of a scuffle this late in the century in Erie? I'm pretty sure that he died in 1847, because I have seen a 1850 census that has his wife remarried already, and the box married within the year is NOT checked. The wife's name is Rebecca HILL and she remarried a William W SMITH. The reason I think it was in 1847 is because she has a 3 year old Charles Thomas HALL II with her in the census.
