HI Folks! I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year! I also want to thank each of your for your contribution and support for the site. We have come a long way the past 4 months in breathing life into the Erie County site! We could not have done it without the help of those of you who take the time to transcribe the books, cemeteries, obits and more. And also those of you who share your families with us, your walls and your successes and then leave trails for others to follow. You will never really know the contribution that you have been for many many people. You all are truly the essence of what Genealogy is all about and I am proud to have been the coordinator of your venture these past few months. As you know, my new job has been much more time consuming than my previous job and I have not had the time or energy to put into the site like I want to. In that light please join me in officially welcoming Bill Klauk as Co-Coordinator for the Erie County (PA) Genealogy web site. Bill has served well as a Township Coordinator for Millcreek Township and has been managing the day-to-day maintenance of the site for several weeks now. I know you all have been enjoying his photos and stories! Bill will make sure things keep happening on the site, will keep up the excitement level and will be a huge asset to the site. I am happy to have him as my partner! I don't like to single out people in a project like this, because it is such a team effort, but I must single out a couple of people. One is Gaylene Kerr Banister. I know it took HUNDREDS of hours to transcribe the History of Erie County. I have seen that book...it is HUGE. And now she is posting hundreds of Biographies where folks from all over the genealogy world will have access to them. We are all very fortunate that she took the time to do this project and to share it with us! I am personally deeply grateful. Barb Seyler, who has contributed much and has been my hearty supporter. We live nearby each other and will soon be meeting. Dee Davidson is also a valued supporter and contributor. Last but certainly not least, Marian Fromknecht who has posted hundreds of obits on the Gen Connect site, which once again will benefit hundreds of people all over the country. You all have my deep appreciation! There are many other folks whose contributions are equally important and valuable and I am thankful for your time and commitment. Bill and I are looking forward to 2001 and are committed to bringing you more data, more people and more leads to your families rich heritage! Best Wishes for the New Year!
