    3. Hi Genealogy Friends! Does anyone know if there is microfilm available somewhere for the Union City Times, in 1901. I have a short obit for Dr. George W. Wilson that is from a Neighborhood Newspaper and it references information from "Union City Times." Article would have appeared around March 9, 1901 as that was his date of death. Also am searching for an obituary for Anna (Burdick) Wilson, wife of George W. Wilson, who died 17 February 1895. They were living in Mill Village - however, there might be mention in the Union City Times for her as well. Will appreciate any advice and help. Thanks, Barb

    3. Hi Barb... Happy New Year! I was able to obtain quite a few obits from the Union City Public Library. The person who assisted me is the Library Director, Ruth Cogan, and her email address is mailto:[email protected] . Here is some info from her first reply to my inquiry: "The Union City Public Library has some obituary records taken from local newspapers, as well as copies of the local newspaper, Times-Leader, dating back to 1865. If you could provide us with names, dates, or whatever you have, we would be glad to research this information for you. Generally, we charge $5.00 per hour for this work. If you have dates, or if the information is readily available, there would not be a charge. The fee only applies if we have to search through the microfilm. Hope this helps. Ruth Cogan, Library Director." Good luck... Linda Barb Seyler wrote: > Hi Genealogy Friends! > > Does anyone know if there is microfilm available somewhere for the Union City Times, in 1901. 3. HI Barb! Have you check with the county library for the obits? They have them back to 1822. The Pennsylvania State Library has an extensive collection of Erie papers on microfilm that you can borrow via interlibrary loan.
